Cusco city

Day 01.-  City tour to imperial city of Cusco with the guide, it begins at the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Sun Temple or Koricancha, we can see typical and streets; also we visit the Sacsayhuaman ruins, located in the highest part of the city, ideal place to take pictures, the Quenco amphitheater, Puca Pucara and the “Bath of Ñusta”, Tambomachay. Return to hotel.

Sacred Valley of the Incas

Day 02.- Prepare to nice experience and appreciate large fields of corn and potato in diverse variety.

The guide will coordinate the services to Sacred Valley, the guide suggests to best colorful and attractive places to take pictures, in route to Pisac, you will visit the handicraft and textile center of Awanacancha, see the camelids like llama, alpaca, vicuña animal of fine wool, and the guanaco. After, we will go to handicraft market of Pisac, where locals keep an Inca commercial system called “barter” it is interchange of product by product. Then a delicious rural lunch, in the country estate house “Orihuela”, where there are some Inca pieces and paintings of the School Cusquean; finally, we will visit the Inca town Ollantaytambo, where the streets and houses of Inca style are preserved. Return to hotel.

Chachabamba – Choquesuysuy – Machu Picchu

Day 03.- Very early, the Antara guide led you to the train station on Ollantaytambo, then we will arrive at kilometer 104 (2,200 m.a.s.l. / 7,218 ft.) where the walk will start, we will pass a bridge over the Urubamba or Willkamayuc river, this is the place where the Inca Trail begins. After 15 minutes of walk is the archeological center of Chachabamba and Choquesuysuy (2,200 m.a.s.l. / 7,450 ft.) these centers are hide in the semi-tropical forest, then we will walk through ascenders steps, in the route we will appreciate the Sacred Valley, waterfalls, and different types of orchids from semi-tropical forest, in 4-hours walk we will arrive to archeological center of Wiñaywayna (2,650 m.a.s.l. / 8,694 ft.) a perfect model of the agricultural in Inca times. The Wiñaywayna’s name means beautiful orchids, this place is full of orchids. The second part of walk is 2-hours through Andean flat, stairs of stones and tambos (place to rest) till arrive to the Inti Punku “the Gate of Sun” (2,720 m.a.s.l. / 8,924 ft.) in Inca times this was a control to enter the Machu Picchu citadel; in this place we will a spectacular panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the valley that surrounds; after we will descend 30 minutes till arrive to the “Lost City of the Incas” Machu Picchu (2,400 m.a.s.l. / 8,000 ft.). Night of hotel.

Day 04.- Beautiful day to enjoy the citadel.

Breakfast at the hotel, perfect day to enjoy the stay in the citadel, you will have enough time to take pictures. This is a good opportunity to visit Wayna Picchu (young mountain), in the afternoon we will return by train to city of Cusco. Night of hotel in Cusco.
